Hello, my dears ~
On my desk I have a diamond-shaped paperweight. Holding it before a coaching call helps ground me in presence and offers a good reminder: we are multi-faceted, multi-storied, multi-chaptered beings. We have our share of trials, traumas, and triumphs. And still, underneath it all, we have our shining selves. Like the title of Emory Hall’s poem, “I have been a thousand different women.”
At the turning of the year, I don’t much fancy goalsetting or resolutions, but I do make a ritual of visiting with my Self to hear what she treasures of the past and desires for the season ahead. What facet of my diamond life will I polish? Which will catch the light in 2025? Perhaps it’s my creative self, Or my little daydreamer, Or the version of me who must have music,
Or the one who adventures, the one on the stage. Maybe one of the many facets I’ve been exploring with you this year will catch my eye: my anxious self, the stuck one, the judge. Remember them? I welcome everyone, embracing each version of who I’ve been.
Today, I conjure a space of allowing. Savoring a cup of tea and a dose of wonder, I greet myself anew in the turning of the year.
Hello, Self. I remember you.
Wishing you a warm remembering of your own in this new season.
With love and sparkling diamonds, Nancy
